So David Letterman's retiring.  Did you hear?

I grew up watching David Letterman.  I remember his Ball State fraternity picture on my fifth grade teacher's desk, alongside another teacher and yet another from the Indiana school district of my youth.  When I was little and I thought about those people on the TV set, it always seemed so normal to see a fellow Hoosier up there.  I wonder what he'll do next?  

I love this quote from a recent New Yorker article about David Letterman's 'take' on 'things:'

 Letterman’s boredom is fun because it flows from something like a sense of Midwestern decency.
